When on Google Earth 43
Looting Matters is hosting When on Google Earth 43 (WOGE 43) after I identified the Medieval Motte at the University of Wales Lampeter. So Lindsay Allen passes the baton to me ...
All you have to do is identify the place and the archaeological feature.
The rules again:
Q: What is When on Google Earth?
A: It’s a game for archaeologists, or anybody else willing to have a go!
Q: How do you play it?
A: Simple, you try to identify the site in the picture.
Q: Who wins?
A: The first person to correctly identify the site, including its major period of occupation, wins the game.
Q: What does the winner get?
A: The winner gets bragging rights and the chance to host the next When on Google Earth on his/her own blog!
Regular readers should bear with me!
Please leave identifications in the comment box.

Mindful of Bill Clinton.
Don't worry David. We're all out here scouring google earth for the solution. Hmmm. Bill Clinton... cigars..? Whitewater..? None of the possible lewinskys pan out either...
everybody went to excavation or what's up? More hints please!!!!!
You have three pictures and a clue ... what more do you need.
One colleague tried to extract information today ...
We think that it's Hay Castle in Hay on Wye, Wales... constructed in the 12th century.
Identified by Moore's Nigel...
Last week was the Guardian Hay Festival - described by Bill Clinton as "Woodstock of the Mind". This coincided with the 25th anniversary of CADW, the body that looks after ancient monuments in Wales.
Hay Castle - pictured in WOGE 43 - is now part of the secondhand book complex that makes Hay-on-Wye famous.
So congratulations to Nigel of the Moore Group who will be hosting (again!) WOGE 44.
