The Fano Athlete: Update on Appeal


Lee Rosenbaum has noted the outcome of the appeal by the J. Paul Getty Museum over the bronze Fano athlete. An Italian court did not uphold the appeal by the Getty ("Getty Bronze seizure appeal turned down", April 21, 2010).
Judge Raffaele Cormio said he could see "no reason" to uphold the Getty's request to suspend the confiscation of the world-famous artefact, which was found in the sea near this Adriatic coastal city 45 years ago.
